Defisis/Inifinite Livez, "Earthtime/Emceeme"
After the pure energy-blast of Gamma’s "Killer Apps" and the "Extra Yard" compilation it heralded, it’s time for members of the group’s Shadowless crew to step into the light. A double A side, this single features two of the most talked-about MCs in the UK – Defisis and Infinite Livez. Defisis’ "Earthtime" is a sparse, bass-driven beat over which the young MC from Birmingham drops pure science, the whole held together by a chorus which should remind the attentive listener of early Nas. Infinite Livez, meanwhile, stakes his claim for the twisted rhymers’ throne and stretches the vocal chords a little: "I’m kicking it for roots and visual culture/ Porn star fucks a Bobby Drake ice sculpture/ the Iceman cometh/ you could end up with stiff nips/ erect like Easter Island heads with thick lips." Two young MCs at the height of their powers showing that the UK can offer up as much imagination, vision and technique as anywhere in the world….
Defisis was originally known as a member of the crew DFXO. He is currently recording albums for SFDB in Wales and SWAMP in Germany. He has worked with Blade, toured all over Europe and is destined to be Britain’s first black prime minister.
Inifinite Livez is a former FKO Raw freestyle battle champion, has had a seriously ill comic book published ("Globulelicious") and has recorded for Camshot with producer Blufoot. His debut album is due out on Big Dada next summer.
