As regular visitors to Big Dada's cosy web HQ will have noticed, 2009 is going to be all about new signings. it's an incredibly exciting time for us, and hopefully for you, too. One of the bright young stars preparing for her debut album is the label's first ever female solo artist, Speech Debelle. Her track 'Searching' has been playing on the site for a while, and is now up on Itunes to buy. There's also a very nice, hand numbered and stamped 7" on the webshop and in stores. The song has already picked up nine Radio 1 plays, which isn't very common for a label that values the creative above all else. In case you need more convincing to spend your pounds or pence, those arbiters of taste Dazed magazine and the Stool Pigeon have both featured South London's newest star. They recommend you grab it quick smart, too.

One of Big Dada's most exciting new signings are finally making it over to London next month. Thunderheist are producer Grahmzilla and vocalist Isis, who providence happily brought together to form "Toronto's shit-hot electro duo" (NME.com)
You can hear their debut release 'Jerk It' playing on the site right now, and even better, see their intensely brilliant live show at YoYo (Notting Hill Arts Club) on Thurs 4th Dec, and alongside musical contemporaries XXXChange (Spank Rock) and Boy 8 Bit at Cargo on Friday 5th.
There are rumours of guerilla style live antics circulating too...
Catch them whilst you can still get near the stage - they're very much worth it.

The stunningly brilliant cover of Slime and Reason, designed by the powerhouse design team Oscar and Ewan, has been nominated as the best of 2008 by Art Vinyl. For those who don’t own big sunglasses or spend an inordinate amount of time in Hackney, Art Vinyl is a great little shop and gallery on Broadway Market, that sells record display cases and generally celebrates the glory of good, 12” vinyl artwork.
